Candidatura a Director de la Corporaciòn Autónoma Regional del Valle del Cauca - CVC

Finalmente ayer 5 de Noviembre me he presentado como candidato a Director General a la Corporación Autónoma regional del Valle del Cauca -CVC  La Autoridad Ambiental y de Desarrollo Sostenible de la región, El valle debe buscar un crecimiento verde, un verdadero desarrollo sostenible, llevó más de 15 años verificables en temas de sostenibilidad , he trabajado como consultor, emprendedor , asesor internacional, académico, y directivo en el sector público y privado en temas relacionados del desarrollo sostenible , mi hoja de vida es transparente, y totalmente verificable . Nuestro país y en especial el Valle del Cauca requieren acciones y estrategias concretas ante retos grandes como el cambio climático, el aumento de la contaminación, reducción sistemática y en ascenso de nuestro capital natural, mercados de carbono, Pagos por Servicios Ambientales. PSA, negocios verdes, fuentes no convencionales de energía renovable FNCER, economía circular, bioeconomía, economía forestal, Eco-eficiencias, etc. La CVC necesita profesionales que realmente conozcan, que sepan lo que significa implementar un modelo de crecimiento verde generando a riqueza en armonía con el ambiente, nuevas empresas y empleos verdes, apoyar las buenas prácticas y apalancar recursos de la comunidad internacional para catalizar las acciones que se necesitan para ese desarrollo sostenible del Valle del Cauca. Y que gane el MEJOR el Valle lo necesita! 

Aquí en virtud de la transparencia total que siempre me a caracterizado presentó apartes  de mi HV  , mis conocimientos y experiencia  certificada y verificada para desarrollar las funciones de Director. 

Nature Based Solutions/ Green Biz on the move

The last days has been very intense on the promotion of Green Business /Nature Based Solutions
First on a Regional Green  Biz Seminar where we attend a great workshop with Blue Economy`s Gunter Pauly and Invemar. Santa Marta, Colombia. October 4 2019.

And then on October 8 the PRE-COP on my birthplace Costa Rica, where I had the Honor to participate on workshop Keynote: The importance of Mainstreaming Natural Capital into Development Planning,Policy reforms for leveraging private sector investments on a regenerative economy. Thanks to de IADB which is leading and helping Countries as Costa Rica and Colombia to achieve their objetives on their green growth Transition.

Good Bye to a Great & sometimes misunderstood Leader, The Colombian President & Nobel Prize

Adiós, Presidente! 

Farewell to a great leader, President Santos, sometimes misunderstood by many of my fellow countrymen, history will judge him benevolently, he was someone who bet all his political capital on Colombia’s peace agreement among many other progressive policies.

I have to say it was a truly honor to work under President Santos command, and accomplished all objectives on green economic ,financial, and market instruments as well as developed the Green National Business plan  where we had accomplished more than a thousand green business! ,creating more than 7,000 truly green jobs,  showing more than 50 million usd on net sales of green micro-entrepreneurs .

We did it! , we did harvest the pillar of green growth as the new vision. Proud, proud to have worked as Head of Office at the now well renamed Green Business Office at  Colombian Ministry of Environmental  & Sustainable Development. A new age has begun in Colombia, let us pray for keeping the right and only track we could take, the sustainable development way !

Finalmente y después de mucho trabajo ,muchísimo análisis de años por parte de la ONVS , Salió la Tasa Compensatoria Forestal cuya finalidad es preservar y conservar especies forestales que sosteniblemente son utilizadas, generara mas recursos para preservar y conservar nuestros bosques, también buscará mayor control en la deforestación en las regiones . Esta es la última herramienta que de un Bloque significativo de herramientas económicas, financieras y de mercado se han logrado exitosamente en esta administración en procura de un mayor crecimiento verde !

My Farewell to the Colombia´s Ministery of Environment and Sustainable Development

Saying good bye to a great institution, great guy, great leader, It's never easy, Its been a real privilege worked on a government that gave all for peace under the leadership of Nobel peace prize, It’s been a real honor accomplished all the objectives we had on green economic instruments as well to facilitate green business as a green growth strategy for Colombia, Hopefully I will see most of my colleagues and friends in these green battles to change an unsustainable economic paradigm towards a sustainable one.

My Boss : The Minister of Environment And Sustainable Development for the lasts couple of years. 

We at the office create a huge battery of new green economic instruments as well as the creation of the voluntary carbon market, all of this replicates on new resources, new investments on strategic ecosystems in Colombia, without his leadership and President Santos we could not make it , as simple as that.  On the Green Business Division we create hundreds of new green business and the policy has been adopted as a National policy that will create new opportunities by balance environment, social and economics using the Green National Plan, so far more than 7,000 new jobs in less than 4 years.  We made it!!! ,we delivered strong !!!

Negocios Verdes herramienta para el Desarrollo Sostenible

Es incomprensible La dualidad de los extremistas y muchos personajes lideres en sus sectores : Comunistas que viajan en primer clase, con rolex , con conductores y escoltas, ambientalistas que se rasgan las vestiduras y viajan a diestra y siniestra por todo el mundo sin compensar su huella de carbono, con tremendas casas y sin medir su impacto de huella ecológica, comprando plástico al por mayor, asistiendo a tremendos asados, etc. etc, ahh, pero para criticar allí si son los más verdes, los garantes de la sostenibilidad, como algunos exministros que ahora son los súper verdes y cuando pudieron asistir muchos de los grandes problemas que tenemos hoy brillaron por sus incapacidad de desarrollar soluciones reales y sostenibles, como siempre es muy fácil criticar pero muy difícil proponer.

El desarrollo sostenible aún no ha calado en el ADN de muchas personas en nuestro país , es difícil hablar con muchas veces con un ambientalista desde su perceptiva de desarrollo humano, pero aún más difícil hablar con un economista vieja escuela sobre los límites para el crecimiento , es por esto que en Suecia en los años ochenta se creó un marco conceptual que permita que todos indiferentemente de nuestras áreas de conocimiento y experiencias podamos hablar un mismo lenguaje en que es desarrollo sostenible  y asi diferenciar entre que es sostenibilidad y que no lo es, en este tema hay que tener unos principios que fueron desarrollados bajo las leyes de la física , estos principios socio ecológicos, esto nos permite que hablemos el mismo lenguaje, y así construir un mundo más sostenible , la metodología The Natural Step se ha desarrollado con éxito en muchas partes del mundo demostrando como podemos generar un crecimiento en  equilibrio con el medio ambiente, es también usada en varias empresas que son modelos como empresas verdes –sostenibles , NO puede haber un país que crezca sin este equilibrio.

Modelos de sociedades insostenibles hay muchos y modelos de países que van creciendo en balance con el ambiente más bien pocos y con obviamente vacíos que deben llenar aun pero quien no entienda que el desarrollo sostenible es un proceso y como tal debe surtir varios pasos hasta logara su objetivo que es la sostenibilidad de nuestra sociedad no entiende realmente  cual es el concepto de evolución del ser humano hacia un balance social y –o ambiental , los términos economía verde “Green Economy” , crecimiento verde “Green Growth” ,Economía Azul en esencia buscan lo mismo suplir las necesidades  humanas pero claramente también la de nuestros sistemas naturales . Increíblemente en nuestro sector hay muchas voces divergentes que no entienden conceptualmente que significa desarrollo sostenible ,ni entienden que es desarrollo y aún menos que es significa sostenibilidad  que sintacticamente converge con sustentable o en ingles sustainability, palabra que por cierto no era clara ni existia en lco correctores cuando inicie mi maestría en Suecia en el 2005.

Esta falta de claridad ha generado por ejemplo que por ejemplo el termino Negocios Verdes  y sostenibles sean mal conceptualizados el nombre tampoco debería  ser negocios verdes , negocios sostenibles sería más acorde como también el ministerio de ambiente y desarrollo sostenible  pues el termino desarrollo sostenible ya lo tiene inmerso y es redundante sin embargo sería entonces más que un ministerio de ambiente con énfasis en sostenibilidad como está actualmente sería un súper ministerio de desarrollo en Colombia y que claro convergería además del ambiente con todos los sectores productivos , es por esto que ser requiere tal vez  una alta consejería presidencial para esto, 

El mundo está cambiando hacia esa dirección nuestra oficina de negocios verdes busca además de generar instrumentos económicos para la sostenibilidad o ese crecimiento verde del país fomentar modelos empresariales que contribuyan a un país más equitativo, mas social en balance con el ambiente y  ojala restaurándolo,  NO PUEDE existir un modelo de negocio verde si no se cumple con estos principios de sostenibilidad  ni los criterios sociales , ambientales y claro económicos que buscan este balance en la sostenibilidad  , de ir en detrimento de los principios de sostenibilidad y de los criterios que se requiere para ser un negocios verde, Simplemente:  NO ES UN NEGOCIO VERDE , así que el comercialismo, mercantilismo, no cabe en este termino , el Plan Nacional de Negocios Verdes aclara estos criterios sociales, ambientales y económicos , simplemente esto es parte y la esencia de un ministerio que dejo de ser solamente un ministerio de ambiente por uno de ambiente con énfasis en un verdadero desarrollo sostenible , si esta oficina al igual que los instrumentos económicos que desarrollamos estuviesen en otra cartera simplemente no tendríamos el enfoque ambiental que es pilar del modelo sostenible de desarrollo 

Greening Choco region

We took a helicopter ride on rio quito one of the most devastated area on choco due illegal mining , we are going to approach this issue as an integral government the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable development, the ministry of agriculture , the ministry of mines and energy ,the ministry of interior ,, etc we must come with integral responses to save one of the most important  bio diverse regions on the world

So we are working with US AID on green business projects as alternatives , and here is one of the ¨champions¨ we are working on a natural organic colorant from a native plant ACHIOTE ,this natural colorant organic  harvested from a native seed of the region is highly effective and its colorant is among the best for food industry , the commercialization of this product has a huge potential on internal and external markets , the whole process of its production fullfil on a great percentage our green business criteria .
